Curious about how Bandalier began? You may have heard the story when our CEO, Jeremy Ruch, appeared on Callan Harrington’s ‘That Worked’ podcast earlier this year. In a recent interview with Team Subkit, Jeremy shares more details about our team’s mission and what inspired him to establish Bandalier.
New Opportunities for Outsourcing Inside Sales
While working for a New York City-based start-up, Jeremy found himself tasked with building a brand-new inside sales team. They needed to move fast, and his team was already running near maximum capacity. They didn’t have the time to recruit candidates, screen resumes, interview applicants, and onboard someone new. Jeremy began searching for an outsourced partner – but his search came up nearly empty. He found plenty of options that would suit larger companies, such as traditional call centers. But outsourced sales teams for start-ups were few and far between.
Jeremy started exploring options to solve that problem. During his research, he realized there was another gap that he could help close. There’s great talent located all across the country, but start-ups and other lucrative opportunities were concentrated in large cities. In 2017, Bandalier launched its first outsourced inside sales program. We went to work meeting the needs of fast-growing start-ups by connecting them with talent from all across the U.S.
Learning and Growing
As our team grew, we expanded our program offerings to include customer service, customer success, and operational roles. Jeremy is most proud of the impact Bandalier has had on hundreds of careers. We love to see our clients and team members succeed together, and our culture of kaizen means that we’re always looking for new ways to win.
Those successes can be hard to come by. For Jeremy,
The hardest thing [about being a business owner] is navigating the inevitable ups and downs that come with running any business. It’s a cliche at this point, but it’s certainly true: the highs of running a business are high, but the lows are very low, and you need to be prepared for that. Make sure you have a genuine passion for whatever problem [you] are solving – I think without this, it’d be very difficult to stay motivated.
